Dill Pastry Recipe: Classic Bakery Recipe

  • flour – 4 cups (and extra)
  • baking powder – 1 pack (10g)
  • butter unsalted – 250g (at room temperature)
  • carrots – 2 pcs. (grated)
  • dill – 1/2 bunch (or as you wish)
  • vegetable oil – 1 cup
  • yogurt – 1 cup
  • egg – 1 yolk
  • salt – 2 teaspoons

Dill Pastry Recipe Dough Preparation

Combine all the dry ingredients, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl and blend them with your hands. Open a pool in the middle of the flour and add yogurt, butter and oil, then add the cheese, grated carrots and dill. Knead it by hand for 2-3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Stretch on it and let the dough rest for 10 minutes.

After the dough has rested, break out walnut-sized pieces and roll them by hand. Press it with three fingers and place it on a baking tray like you would make a meatball. Brush them with egg yolk. Gently draw with the back of the fork. Bake for 25-30 minutes in the oven preheated to 185 degrees. You can let it rest for 4-5 minutes after removing it and serve.

Service Suggestion

If you wish, you can add a piece of cheese to increase its flavor.
